school uniforms

It is interesting to me to see where the British influence from the colonial days still st
rongly persists. One thing that stands out is the school uniforms, very British, not Indian. This picture is a group of young girls in Varanasi going off to school in a pedal powered school bus. All ages of school children and university students wear white shirt and tie uniforms. The other British legacy is cricket, which is a national passion.
