The Ellora Caves are about 30 km from Aurangabad, the town where I am staying for a few days. There are a total of 34 caves, There are some Buddhist, some Hindu and some Jain. The Ellora Caves are not as peaceful and contemplative as the Ajanta Caves, but there is more variety. It seems that the patrons were trying to out do each other.
