Leading up to the US presidential election, there was a lot of interest by the people of India and by the other western tourists. There was an overwhelming desire for change from the Bush administration. Most favored Obama. A few, military men, that I talked to thought that the president should be a military man, so they favored McCain. Everyone was surprised that the new president does not take over power until January. They expected it to be much sooner.
