Nepal - an almost-failed-state

Nepal is struggling to recover from a decayed monarchy, full of scandal, intrigue and murder, along with a long Maoist insurgency which was recently ended with an election that resulted in the leader of the insurgency being elected as the head of the government. The Nepal army is still powerful and is not enthusiastic about accepting the rebel soldiers into the national army, and the population is tired of the fighting and political grid-lock that has dragged down the economy, and tourism, while they are trying to claw their way to be a peaceful member of the developed world.
